6-day itinerary (typical birding flow)

This schedule is intentionally flexible to follow bird activity, weather windows, and habitat changes. Exact stops depend on conditions and lodge availability.

  • Day 1: Cusco → habitat transition stops → birding in higher/transition zones.
  • Day 2: Cloud forest birding: mixed flocks, hummingbirds, and key viewpoints.
  • Day 3: Continued cloud forest + descent toward warmer forest; strategic stops for target species.
  • Day 4: Amazon foothills birding: trails, river edges, and early-morning sessions.
  • Day 5: Full birding day in prime habitat: dawn + late-afternoon sessions for best activity.
  • Day 6: Final early birding session → return to Cusco.
